By Plane
Kranjska Gora can be reached from three airports placed close to it, at a distance that does not exceed a 90 minutes drive. At Brnik airport in Ljubljana there are planes landing from London, Frankfurt and Vienna on a regular basis, (62 km from Kranjska Gora); while Klagenfurt terminal in Austria has connections coming from Berlin, Dusseldorf and Hannover (55 km); and finally, Ronchi airport in Trieste, Italy, welcomes flights from London, Milan and Munich, among other cities in Europe (136 km).
By Car
If you rent a car at the airport in Ljubljana, drive straight, pass a town called Voglje and take your right in road 104. Afterwards, you will come to a roundabout where you must go along the third exit into E61/A2; go on for 16 kilometres, and then get on E61/ H1, E61/8 and E61/A2. Abandon this track at the exit for road 201 and drive along it for other 17 kilometres. After a town called Belca, you will reach Kranjska Gora: turn left into road 206 and right into Borovška cesta, which is the main avenue in this destiny. Continue along it till number 99, where you will see Hotel Larix on your left hand side. (This journey will take you around 1 hour).
If you come from Italy, get on highway A23 towards Udine-Tarvisio and get off at the exit for Tarvisio: enter Slovenia through the international border crossing "Ratece"; otherwise, if your plane lands in Austria, you may come to Slovenia through the crossing "Korensko Sedlo" or the Karavanke tunnel (coming from Klagenfurt airport or the city of Villach, which is close to the border).
By Train
It is also possible to reach Kranjska Gora on public transport, in case you decide not to rent a car. The railway station you will find closer to the property is Jesenice, at a distane of 20 km. There are various daily services departing from Ljubljana that reach this stop in an hour or one hour 15 minutes: afterwards, catch any of the buses going to Kranjska Gora, which take 30 minutes. |
