The town of Cannobio is only a few kilometres from the Swiss border, and is located on the shores of the spectacular western end of Lago Maggiore. The Lido at Cannobio boasts one of the few wide, sandy beaches along the lake, and the waters offshore are remowned for sailing, windsurfing and the other water-sport. |

Coming by plane+car from Malpensa airport:
Take the A8 motorway, continue on the A26 motorway and exit at Gravellona Toce. Take the S33 "Del Sempione" following "Switzerland" signs. Continue straight ahead on the SS34 ("del Lago Maggiore") up to Cannobio. Entering Cannobio follow the main street and turn to the lake side on the right hand-side, you will find Hotel Cannobio on the lakefront.
Coming by plane+car from Linate Airport:
Bypass up towards Turin up to the A8 motorway, continue on the A26 motorway and exit at Gravellona Toce. Take the S33 "Del Sempione" following "Switzerland" signs. Continue straight ahead on the SS34 ("del Lago Maggiore") up to Cannobio. Entering Cannobio follow the main street and turn to the lake side on the right hand-side, you will find Hotel Cannobio on the lakefront.
Coming by car from Switzerland:
Take the N2 freeway from Basel to Lugano, through the tunnel of the Gottardo. Follow in direction Locarno and Ascona in Switzerland or direction Maccagno and Luino in Italy. Cross the Swiss border and take the SS34 towards Cannobio. Entering Cannobio follow the main street and turn to the lake side on the right hand-side, you will find Hotel Cannobio on the lakefront.
Coming by train:
The nearest railway stations are "Verbania Fondotoce" (Italy) and "Locarno" (Switzerland). From both railway stations you can reach Cannobio by taxi. Otherwise Cannobio is linked to Verbania via a convenient bus service (VCO Transports) and is serviced by the Lake Maggiore ferryboats.

Cannobio is served by the Lake Maggiore Ferryboats. Ghiffa, Luino, Oggebbio, Cannero, are all linked by this convenient boat service. |
