By plane:
The airports that you will find closer to the Residence Lastei are Francesco Baracca in Bolzano (90 km from San Martino di Castrozza) and Giovanni Caproni in Trento (110 km). However, they are way smaller than international terminals such as Innsbruck (211 km), Valerio Catullo in Verona (around 200 km) and Marco Polo in Venice (around 160 km). From these last two you will be able to get connections on public transport.
By car: If you arrive at Bolzano airport (or some city to the north of it, including Innsbruck) take the A22 "Brennero" motorway and get off at Egna/Ora. Afterwards drive onto the SS48 route, passing the towns of Fontanefredde and San Lugano. As you approach Castello di Fiemme, take the SP232 and after Cavalese, you will reach a roundabout where you must drive to the second exit and get back on the SS48. Continue along Via Fiemme Gialle into the town of Predazzo: take Via Trento, turn right at the SS50 route and keep on it up to San Martino di Castrozza. Once here, take your left at Via Laghetto and then turn right into Via Giuseppe Zecchini, where you will find the Lastei on number 3. (This journey will take you around 1 hour 25 minutes).
Otherwise, if you are coming from the South, take motorway A4 and exit at Padova Ovest, from where you will have around 128 kilometres till the Residence. From the East, exit the same route at Vicenza Est and drive around 120 kilometres.
By train: During the winter season, there is practically no reason to worry about getting to San Martino di Castrozza: you can book in advance a transfer service that goes directly form the Venice airport to the town, leaving and arriving every Saturday. At the cities of Feltre and Trento, accessible from the air terminals at Venice and Verona as well as the train, you can get buses to San Martino di Castrozza. This transport will leave you only 100 metres from the Residence Lastei. |
