Ski Hotel Vogel is placed on the top of a mountain, 1537 metres above sea level, in the heart of the Triglav National Park, high above Lake Bohinj and it is surrounded by the Julian Alps' jewels. To reach directly this special hotel you can take the cable car. The place offers wonderful views and a range of different levels of ski slopes for all ages. By Plane:
The international airport at Ljubljana is the closest airport (75km); it will take guests around an hour to reach the hotel by car. From Ljubljana: Leave the Ljubljana north highway ring at the Šiška exit and continue the journey on the Gorenjska highway and motorway. Leave the motorway at the Bled exit (about 60 km from Ljubljana), pass through Bled and Bohinjska Bistrica, Ribčev Laz, where you turn left to the south side of lake Bohinj. There are only a few more kilometres to arrive at Ukanc, where there is the Vogel gondola station. It takes approximately half an hour to get from Bled to Ukanc. Alternatively use the ALPETOUR or JP Ljubljanski potniški promet shuttle bus services that run hourly to the main central station and catch a train and follow as below.
By Train:
Guests can reach the local station of Bohinjska Bistrica from Ljubljana central station which has connections from many major European countries. You have to use the LP service to get here and they start early in the morning and run into the evening, they take between two to three hours to reach Bohinjska Bistrica. From the bus station you need to catch a bus to Zlatorog and stop at Vogel. From there you take the cable car, 5 min, which will take you directly to Ski Hotel Vogel.
By Car:
From Austria: Enter Slovenia at the Karavanke tunnel, pass by Jesenice, take the Bled exit pass through Bled and Bohinjska Bistrica, Ribčev Laz, where you turn left to the south side of lake Bohinj. Follow on straight and there are only a few more kilometres to arrive at Ukanc, where there is the Vogel gondola station. It takes approximately half an hour to get from Bled to Ukanc.
From Italy: Longer way (panoramic) leads us from Nova Gorica, Tolmin, over the Vršič Pass, through Kranjska Gora and Jesenice. Leave the motorway at the Bled exit pass through Bled and Bohinjska Bistrica, Ribčev Laz, where you turn left to the south side of Lake Bohinj. There are only a few more kilometres to arrive at Ukanc, where there is the Vogel gondola station. It takes approximately half an hour to get from Bled to Ukanc. |
