Ladin Museum:
The new premises of the Fassa Ladin Museum, opened in 2001, house the ethnographic collections of Istitut Cultural Ladin, the result of twenty years of research, organized following precise logical criteria and dedicated to the various aspects of the Ladin civilization. The Ladin Museum, whose essential lines were planned already back in 1978-79, reflects the image of a lively and self-aware community with its own language, a special territory and history. The subject of the exhibition is the process of the coming into being of a people, or ethnogenesis, through the material and spiritual cultural evidences from its origins to the present day. It is a lively image, reflecting itself in the structure of the exhibition itself, conceived - under Ettore Sottsass' direction - as a contemporary venue where the culture of the Ladin minority group defines itself in its current dimension. One of the most significant aspects of the exhibition is the Multimedia Support System. It includes 17 information points, controlled by a computer network and featuring interactive touch-screens, distributed along the entire Museum's route. Through them visitors gain access to 74 short monothematic films on single objects or aspects of the exhibition, with their original sound and texts in various languages. In addition to the exhibition rooms, the Museum has a visitable depository, a multimedia room for teaching activities, a bookshop and a museum-shop with high quality gifts and gadgets.
The Museum is not confined to its central premises but is a Museum in the territory with its "local sections" that form an ethnographic route throughout the entire valley. In the various Val di Fassa shops you will find a wide range of local and typical products and friendly staff at your complete service.
Traditional flavour:
A holiday in the Valle di Fassa is an "appetising" chance to understand the rich and fascinating gastronomic culture of the Dolomites. In the best traditions of Ladino hospitality, the best restaurants offer well-defined journeys through local gastronomic tradition with balanced combinations of creatively interpreted typical local dishes accompanied by the best Trentino wines. The discovery of these traditional flavours and aromas gives you the chance to become acquainted with a wise culture, deeply linked to the land where tastes and traditions are integral parts of a unique heritage.
Osteria Tipica Trentina:
"Osteria Tipica Trentina" is a club, supported by the Province of Trento and the local Chamber of Commerce, whose members aim at defending and improving the traditional values of the cooking, wines and gastronomy of Trentino. A careful selection of the products of the territory, the quality of the services provided, the peculiarity of the interiors and a special attention and care in the way in which the dishes are served are the main goals of the restaurants joining this club. Through the continuous search for renewal of the local cooking tradition, in fact, the restaurants labelled by this sign provide their guests with a great variety of high quality foods while promoting the local gastronomic tradition at the same time.
